Uploaded videos are rendered with low resolution

I have uploaded my first video to the script on my website but the video is displayed with low video quality, although the original video is of high resolution. I could not find a fix for this problem in previous discussions here.

Is there a way to solve this problem? Is there a quality selector (as in Youtube)?

It sounds like your video encoding parameters are set incorrectly. What are yours set to?
